CEPHAS 2019: Searching for Meaning and Value in the Contemporary World
CEPHAS 2019 invites adult participants (aged 18+) to register for its eighth residential course at Stone, 27-30 June, 2019 (arrivals from 6pm on Thursday; depart 3pm on Sunday).
CEPHAS 2019 invites participants to reflect on how to find meaning and value in the contemporary world, how to rediscover the ‘dignity of the human person’, and how to chart our ‘individual and social role in the universe’ (46).
To participate, or for more information, please contact Sr Valery Walker. All CEPHAS courses have been oversubscribed, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Over the weekend, we will explore — with a focus on Aquinas — the rich philosophical and theological wisdom underpinning the encyclical Gaudium et Spes [Joy and Hope].
CEPHAS courses include philosophy and theology workshops, guest lectures (with good wine, questions and discussion), and free time for relaxation, private reading and reflection.
The sessions are organised so that participants, if they would like, may join in the daily liturgy of the Stone Community.
Suggested donation: Residential: £170 / £80 (student)
Non-residential: £80 / £20 (student)
Our staff are voluntary, and the full cost of the course will include food and accommodation.
There are bursaries available for anyone (whether employed or not) who would like to come but would benefit from financial assistance.
